Full Sail Brewing is “Living the Dream” with Limited Edition Brews

Full Sail BrewingIf you ever want to know why I really love craft beer, this is it right here.

Oregon’s Full Sail Brewing offers up a nice selection of brews, from Amber, IPA and Pale Ale to Session Lager (great name!) and Wassail Winter Ale, but you have to love their LTD line of beer. For them, LTD means “limited edition” and “Live The Dream.”

In celebration of the brewery’s 21st birthday, they’re concocting an ever-changing series of small batch beers, available for a limited time only. Each new LTD Series brew will showcase an original lager recipe, pimped out by their “ace crew of libationary wunderkinds.”

Anheuser-Busch to Introduce Budweiser American Ale

Posted by Andy Gradel | New Brews | Monday, 12 May 2008

Bud American AleI’m not a big fan of Bud. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll gladly drink a bottle if I’m at a barbeque and my choices are Bud, Bud Light and Bud. I’d just prefer not to when there are so many more beers out there that I find much more interesting.

Apparently, I’m not alone in my anti-Bud ways as Anheuser-Busch is reportedly planning to go after “experimenters” with it’s latest offering. That’d be people like me who don’t drink a lot of Bud, are easily bored and bounce around among various beers such as Yuengling, Fat Tire and Hoegaarden. Hmm… not only does that sound like people who like variety, but also people who don’t mind spending a little extra on their beer. Interesting.

Kerberos Tripel Joins Flying Dog’s Litter of Ales

Posted by Andy Gradel | New Brews | Wednesday, 07 May 2008

Flying Dog KerberosI’m just finishing up a nice 12-pack sampler from Flying Dog that I’ll be posting up reviews from in the next couple of days, but it looks like they’ve got yet another brew I’ll have to try as they just announced a new addition to their “litter of ales” - Kerberos Tripel.

As part of the brewery’s Canis Major Series, Kerberos Tripel is a bottle conditioned, strong Belgian-style ale with a slightly hazy appearance and mousse-like head (yummy!) and checks in at a hearty 8.5% abv. It is brewed with Golding and Saaz hops and Pilsner and Aromatic malts to yield a medium body and champagne-like carbonation. Kerberos pairs perfectly with Turkey and other poultry, creamy cheeses, fruit pastries, desserts and crème brulee.
