There’s a Pale Moon on the Rise
If you thought it was hard choosing between Blue Moon, Harvest Moon, Full Moon and Rising Moon, get ready for the beer-buying process to get a tad tougher as there’ll be a new “moon” on the shelves.
At their distributor conference, Coors annouced that they are expanding the Blue Moon family with the addition of a pale ale - Pale Moon. The “Belgian-style pale ale” checks in at 5.4% abv and will launch in several test cities next month with a national rollout planned for 2009.
According to the label: “Pale Moon is a drinkable pale ale that has a distinctive hop aroma, without the lingering aftertaste. This Belgian-Style Pale Ale is brewed with European malts, cascade hops and a touch of hibiscus and orange peel. Thse ingredients create a rich copper colored ale with a flavor complexity that one would expect from the Blue Moon Brewing Company.”
In addition to Pale Moon, you can expect to see 22-ounce bottles and seasonal 12-packs coming soon to a store near you. Blue Moon’s seasonal brews are currently only available as 6-packs.

I have really enjoyed reading your page and the fantastic description of this lucious sounding beverage! My wife picked a six-pack up for me last night and I cant wait to rush home after work and give it a try. I will be back…………….
Thanks… haven’t had any time to update the site in a couple weeks due to work and the fact that my wife and I are moving into a new home in just a couple weeks, but hope to get things back on track soon…
Andy,
Are you a home brewer? If so, could you help me figure out what would be the best route to take for a newbie?
I’ve actually used Mr. Beer for a couple years now and it’s a great introduction to home brewing. They provide the mixes, the hops, the yeast and great instructions. It’s actually pretty hard to screw up their basic mixes, although I’m bummed that my pumpkin lager didn’t turn out quite as good as I had hoped… oh well, there’s always next year.
Well I think I am sold on the Mr. Beer. It looks like the best and least expensive way to go for a 1st timer. It looks like there is plenty of styles and flavors, I always assumed there was a pilsner, lager, nothing really outa the ordinary. THNAKS for the info!
I’m super excited for Pale Moon to come out. I’ve heard different things about the release date. Anyone know a set date for the release?
I actually just picked up a “brewmasters” 12-pack of Blue Moon yesterday, which includes Pale Moon as well as Blue Moon and Full Moon.
If you haven’t had Pale Moon yet, you have a real treat coming. I am a true Mooner, and Pale Moon is the best to date. My wife thinks I have gone crazy as I go buy the Brewmasters pack for the Pale Moon.
